here is my last figure, a grunt in vietnam, 120mm ! I have to thank a lot Reedees Miniatures for their perfect customer care (Steve kindly sent me a second M16A1 set as the first one got lost in the mail ...), i highly recommend Reedees for your 120mm weapons, they are incredibly detailed.
On to the fig itself ... well ... i won't make comments as i understand that perfection is not of this world. I didn't choose to modify anything on it (apart changing the weapon) as this was a way too big process to get her accurate and correct for tthe pose.
all your comments are welcome

Really, really excellent work. You've captured the spirit of the scene well, I especially like the camo tape on the rifle and the treatment of the camo on the skin. Again, really nice work the details are exceptional.

Very nice. I also like the details of the camo tape on the weapon and the arms and face.

I remember seeing this figure when it first appeared on the market... it was a work of art. Carl Reid is the sculptor, right?
You did an amazing job on the figure, I like it a lot. Great work on the greens... although monochrome, the uniform looks fantastic. I like the camo on the flesh as well. The terrain adds to the scene wonderfully. Can you tell me what are the plants you used?

Great job on the figure and the painting of it. Really catches the feel of a jungle floor.
I was sorely tempted with this when I saw it on eBay a few days ago.
I just wish sculptors would sculpt the correct trousers for Vietnam, instead of the post-Vietnam RDF style bellows pockets. A lot of the Vietnam 1/35 figures have the same issues.

thank you Gareth
yep totally, and this is not the only problem with this fig, webbing is lacking lots of details, the mag bandoleer doesn't show any opening to reach the said Mags, no Ka-Bar, no grenades, carried stock is missing at least a good half, etc.
I actually painted the camo face to hide the heavy defaults of the face sculpt.

Thanks David and yes depending of the angle the pose can be funny ... while painting him it seems to me sometimes that he was sucking his thumb like a baby
