Hi guys.

I have a number of photos from books and off the internet showing Panzer IV ausf H (late) of the 12th SS turret number 837 in Normandy and I know it had zimmerit on the hull, but I just can't tell if there was any Zimmerit on the turret shields?

I know that many of the 12th SS panzer IVs had zimmerit on the turret shields but others didn't. From the photos I've seen, it looks like 837 did not have zimmerit there but would really appreciate anyone else's advice on this.

Thanks so much!

The striations are part of the photo, not zimm on the turret shields.

Thanks Wayne!

I had studied those exact photos but the striations were really confusing things for me! Looking at them, it just dawned on me that the '837' turret number is very crisply painted- nice smooth outlines to the numbers and very even, unlike '635' and '618' which are very uneven looking...which also pointsto no zimmerit being there as the zimmerit makes it difficult to paint a crisply-defined number...

Thank you for your help!
