Finally finished building Tamiya's 1/35 scale T-62 kit from the 70s and since I'm just getting back into this hobby after a 35 year break, I'm starting off very slowly and keeping it pretty basic... Like doing out of the box builds only. Anyway, it's time to paint it, so I'm hoping that either Tamiya or Testor/Master Modeler offers a can of green "Soviet" spay paint that is vey close to the shade used from the late 70s to the late 80s.
Before I invest in an airbrush set up, I want to finish a few basic paint jobs first with canned spray paint, in order to build up some level of skill and to make sure that this is something I can really get back into after all these years.
Anyway, my next projects will be Tamiya's T-72 and Dragon's BMP-1. Followed by the U.S. M60A3, M113, M1 and M3 Bradley IFV.
Thanks for looking!!

Russian colors from any era can be "subjective" in interpretation.
Frankly, a can of Krylon "Italian Olive" should fit the bill.

Tamiya's KV-1 instructions call for TS-2 Dark Green overall, which looks a bit too blue to my eye when compared to pictures of actual T-62s in overall green. Both Dragon and Trumpeter call for Testors Model Master 1713, Medium Green, FS 34102 in some of their Russian armor kits. This color is also available in a spray can as product #1913. Olive Drab may not be a bad starting point either if you plan on depicting a weathered tank. Most pictures that I've seen of T-62s have an olive cast to them. Hope this helps.
