Did M48 AVLB see any action in Desert Storm? I am think of painting Dragon's M48 AVLB into full sand color, just don't know if this is correct.

Yes, there were still a few hanging around, especially in Army National Guard units.
Do you have the kit already? I didn't think it had been released yet.

In 1990 M48 AVLB were standard in National Guard units. Even if none were in overall sand for DS there were plenty in the MERDC desert schemes and variations thereof.
The round out brigades like that for first cavalry division might be a good bet for still having them in inventory. IIRC they also deployed with slick M1 and M113. I have a couple of contemporary photo books showing them during Desert Shield. They were in M1A1 for Desert Storm though?

In 3rd ACR we had both M48 and 60 AVLBs in Desert Storm. Some were bridges, some carried MCLC.

Yup, had both in HHT 1/3 ACR up until at least 1989. I remember the M48 hull was all green, the M60 hulls were our normal desert MERDC.

Just in case: Anyone out there building this kit and not using the DS tracks, I would like to buy or trade for them. I have a couple of sets of the AFV Club indies for trade.
