I saw both over there (my patrol got hit by a VBIED in a BMW so I know they were there in 06), they were less commonthan pickups, think bigwigs and sheiks; there were also lot of what we called Frankencars (made up of of pieces of different cars to keep one on the road).

Both kits are usable, but IMHO I would go with the Pajero. The BMW doesn't look as accurate as the Mitsubishi....But maybe it's just me
The Takom BMW :
The 1:1 one (E21 series) :
The kit one upper body half looks a bit "flattened" to me, and the rear window shape appears to be different...

People who claim to know their BMW's have said that there is something wrong with the luggage hatch.
I'm no expert on BMW's .....

When I was a Battalion Commander in Germany in 1995, all of our street worthy "utility vehicles" were Pajeros-- and there were a lot of them brought back from DS/DS. These vehicles were coalition provided vehicles from the Japanese Government to the Saudi and Kuwaiti Governments then given to us for use. We brought bunches of them back which were subsequently used for travel on the German roads.
