Here's my build of the Tamiya, kit 174, steel wheeled Panther ausf G.I have seen lots of pictures,B&W, of this tank knocked out. I believe it was with Kampfgruppe Peiper, 1st Panzer SS Division when it was knocked out at La Gleize Belgium in 1944.
I am not sure about the kit tracks, I used Dragon's separate links a few years ago on a Russian T-34/76 1941 mod and was impressed with the looks, very natural sags. I am also thinking of maybe going to the local model train shop and getting some shrubbery and or tree boughs for camouflage. Here's where I am at, turret built and coat of yellow, lower hull built and PE added, wheels sprayed yellow.---John

John,
Looking good. The Tamiya kits are long in the tooth these days but build up nicely.

you might want to double check references for the louvered covers for the air intakes. I'm away from mine now, but I believe they were only mounted on one side.

I Believe the louvered covers for the air intakes are only mounted in the rght side intakes, and are only mounted when the elevated fan housing on the left side is, as both items are related to the heating system of the tank

Thanks for the info, I can hardly make out anything in the pictures I see so I am not fretting the small inaccuracies I can't see. I also have seen an image showing track skirts on the right side, if that's the correct tank image. Thanks again---John

I printed out a couple of these to try and sketch where the cammo scheme is from some of the B&W images, as best I can.---John

Here's more work on the road wheels. I tried painting the steel with masks and without. Works good both ways.---John

Here's the picture showing the side skirts, I think it's 221, Frenchy posted it elsewhere. Thanks Frenchy. Note I redid these posts, I have a different name at Aeroscale and posted here without thinking, maybe I should just use one name but I like different avatars.---John

I am hoping I can get this moving, I am really looking into another Dragon 1/35 King Tiger. I did one a few years back with the Henschel turret. I would really like to tackle a Porsche turret with zimmerit. Dragon has a nice kit with the zimmerit molded on.---John

I have all the small parts on that I can without damaging
when masking. I'm ready for the base coat of dunklegelb but
I ran out, time to restock.---John
