Hi guys.

I'm looking for any info or photos of 17th SS Stug IVs that were used at the Battle of Bloody Gulch/defense of Carentan around June 13th 1944?

There was a good thread on this topic from 2009 over on another forum but all the photos are now inaccessible!

Any info or pics would be VERY gratefully appreciated!

I've seen those photos during my searching and the Trigger Time thread was in fact the one I was talking about where a lot of the photos are no longer accessible.

There's one photo in particular which is captioned as beibg 'taken near Donville' that I'm particularly interested in but cannot open!

Triggertime displays fine, for me. You may need to clean your internet cache, if you can't see them.

The "StuG near Donville" is shown in a couple of fairly well known colour photos taken by George Lage. It belongs to Mark Bando but has been featured in a few books and articles by others. It's the one with the dead crewman hanging out of the cupola if that rings a bell. The owner of Donville manor has suggested the location as just around the corner on the smaller road, about 400 NE of the manor itself.

I've met M.Feuardent and seen the Manoir de Donville...without a map readily at hand, is the location 400m NE of the manor perhaps close to the Donville Church near the entrance to the Manoir de Donville driveway?

As a side matter, we continued down the sunken lane that runs past Donville and the church for perhaps 2km and came across at least two houses with significant battle damage (bullet holes of various calibres) still visible.

It's an absolutely fascinating area.

My wife was totally freaked out by the manor and the surrounding areas...she couldn't leave quickly enough!
