I believe the the concept and prototype were named the Maneuver Combat Vehicle.

I just love wheeled vehicles with gun turrets. Sure wish more kits came out... Thanks for sharing.

If you have ~$350 burning a hole in your pocket and don't mind resin, Kaiyodo has a kit.

Ouch!! I think I'll take my chances and wait and hope that there will be one in styrene. I can spend 350 bucks on other interesting styrene kits in the meantime.

Agree. But Tamiya seems to consider only japanese army in modern era.

Tamiya had been developing the Type 16 for a while but waited till the JGSDF had the production version ready to finally get the kit done.

Between this and the Centauro, I still wonder why the US can't make a cooler looking Stryker gun truck. And I say that as a fan of the Stryker.
