I'm trying to finsish a Italeri M7 Priest for the Hobby Town modeling contest later this month. The kit tracks are horrible but I don't have the money to pick up some after market ones just now. I have the Tamiya Jumbo kit and while I know the tracks in it aren't great they are infinately better than the Italeri ones. There is a picutre of a Priest in the Squadron U.S. Self-Propelled Guns in action book, on page 15, that looks like it has tracks with the duckbill extenders on it. Would I be too very wrrong to use my Jumbo's tracks on my priest if I was showing a later war vehicle in the snow?

Go for it Rodger.

That pic in the Squadron book is definitely a late M7, as depicted by the Italeri kit, with extended end comnnectors. Just remember to leave the "sand shields" (side track covers) off -- you also should trim back the front and rear fenders a bit because they are extended as part of the sand shields. Look at the cover of the Squadron book and you'll see how much has to come off.
