While working on everything else I've got going , I'll be starting on this church belfry scene to be an observation/sniper post .

I want to thank Henri-Pierre , Frenchy and Tim Martin , Dioramartin for sleuthing out the real life location of the ref pic I will be using .
In real life this church is in Russia/eastern Europe .
That being said I just want to use the architectural elements of the ref photo , so my build won't nessicerally be in Russia .
Right now it's just a church somewhere during ww2 .
France ? , Italy ? , Russia ? , I'll cross that bridge when I come to it .

Not much to show I'm just starting to make molds and casts and try and put this thing together .

Looks like a big project...I look forward to watching the progress!

Very tedious , but I'm happy with what I've done so far and where this is going .
This is at the mock - up stage , just slapped together for pics. and such .
Toughest thing right now is to maybe cruise Michaels and try and find some 1/35thish scale bells .

Holy Masonry Cheyenne that’s looking great, you’re going to have a lot of fun painting/weathering it hopefully. Good luck with the bells though, if you strike out maybe flaring out some thimbles might be a reasonable scratch?

Depending on how my melon muses on the build , a Jack and Ginger and a ciggy maybe turns this into a govt bldg , have not decided yet .

I am sure you can find some plastic bells in the christmas decorations box or shops .

Stone block work on all the columns - done .
Found some nice bells at Michaels that will work .
Casting plaster , casting plaster , casting plaster .
Question - what the hey were bells made of in Europe , 18th , early 19th century ?

First off nice build and bell where cast out of bronze or Bell metal a tin/bronze alloy.

The rosettes look GREAT !

And bronze for the bells.

Lots and lots of great progress here. I was just gonna make a guess it was bronze,but others with more knowledge already beat me to it !

I've got an idea , hold on a second .

Skeletons are cool, which begs the question: will there be a cemetery, or a crypt, or even some catacombs?
