Hey guys - first time doing one of these and the rear has two "structures" that must be attached but have nipple that seem to keep them from being flush up against the body

Do I need to cut that nipple off? It's doesn't "key" in anywhere and I can't find any pics to help

Brian,

Without specifics and more importantly pictures the odds are not good that anyone will have any idea of what you are talking about. Below are the instructions kindly provided from the Henk of Holland Site.

Can you at least refer to the image and tell us what appear to be the problem part numbers? Images of the parts would be ideal to help determine what the issue might be.

Cheers,
Jan

THANKS! I was going to attach a pic!

Its the rear pieces I7 and I8 --- the photos ive seen have them flush against the rear panel but there are molded in "nipples" that would hold the pieces off the rear panel ---- is that normal?

I'm talking about the whole assemblies BTW

The I2 piece is the one I'm talking about --- maybe they are supposed to be off the back panel, not flush?

Also, A16 is a ridulously delicate part - would it be authentic to make my own grab handles (x2 or x3) in place of that? or just leave it off altogether?

Brian,

I'm sorry but the image is restricted either because you have it marked as "Private" or the URL is incorrect. In Flickr you must look at an image full screen and at the bottom right you will see some icons. One is a Curved Arrow pointing to the right and if you hover over it, it should show 'Share'. Press that icon and on the next screen select 'BBcode' and then select and copy what appears in a text box below it. That screen also allows you to select an image size.

As an aside, those storage containers I7 and I8 were not always fitted and I have seen numerous pictures of tanks and model tanks without them. As for part A16, you could use "Artistic Licence" and say that the original grab handles were replaced in the field after battle damage?

Did you drill out the two holes on a14? I think that is your problem, thats what the blue symbol means.

Milos, How did we miss that? (slaps forehead hard) You are absolutely correct. Now all we have to hope is that Brian can still get at the area to drill out those holes.

Jan

Ahhhhhhhhhh - I get it now! Unfortunately I joined the hull and lower but could still mark it from the outside and use my pin vise. But as said above I will prob just leave them off as they were not always on these tanks right???

I managed to get a16 repaired and on the model unbelievably so I'm pleased with that - until I break it off when bending the OKB's hahaha
