I have the Dragon Jagdpanther IV L/70 kit #9043. I have a Lion Roar PE detail set for it and would like recommendation for a after market barrel. I am a little overwhelmed trying to sort through aftermarket sets, I don't know what makes one better than the other and it seems hard to find what goes with what kit.
[edit]I keep typing that wrong, Jadgpanzer, not Jadgpanther.

Does it matter that it says it is designed for Tamiya kits?

You may have to use a drill to open up the hole where the original kit barrel is supposed to fit or you may need to add shims of plasticard (thin strips of styrene) to fill the difference btween the pin on the barrel and the hole.

Hang on a minute! Are you sure you have Dragon kit nr 9041?
Scalemates tells me that 9041 is an observation post vehicle based on a Panther (with some kind of dummy barrel)
Maybe 9043?

To adapt a metal barrel designed for Tamiya it will be necessary to cut off the "breach" end of the Dragon plastic barrel (I12 & I13) at a suitable point, probably somewhere inside A17, so that the assembly with A20, 2xA27 and A?? can be made.
Positioning of A19 will always work but the barrel and the Saukopf, part A23, will be difficult if the original "breach" is not used.
