Yes the wheels look nice to me but the ones in the kit aren't to bad but they don't have any writing on the tire walls.
Going to go German yellow on the Kubelwagen for 1943. what colour would the primer have been. Any links to info on this for the Kuubelwagen (not tanks)

Red oxide. Don't overdo it though, the top coat was quite durable.
Also, keep an eye on the features. The Kübelwagen went through a number of changes throughout the years (jacking points, spare wheel mount, silencers, roof canvas frame, dashboard, semaphores, engine air intake shroud etc, etc all varied depending on time of manufacture....)
Cheers

Also Kubelwagen seats, I have seen some khaki and some black, when did the colours change or did they both come out at the same time?
Not sure on time frame but you're definitely OK with black "enamelled canvas" (not leather...). The seats are very easy to remove (a few buckled leather straps) so they're readily changeable. Early cars had black but then if you consider stockpiles etc., then no reason why later cars shouldn't either.
Nice neat job by the way
Cheers
