Hi guys.
I've ordered Dragon's 6831 "Wittman's Ace Tiger Crew" figure set.
I see that the box art is apparently not the same in terms of how the figures are posed as the actual box contents? (On the box the figures are standing around separately but from build reviews I see they are standing with their arms around each other).
Has anyone built this set and can you please tell me how it came out?
It's a bit disappointing when a manufacturer shows one picture on the box and the figures are moulded in entirely different poses inside!
Thanks!

There are extra arms included in the set, to allow various poses.
However, being DML, be prepared for a LOT of clean-up, replacing heads with Hornet products, and one big problem is the collar tabs are grossly oversized, standing proud of the collar surface in exaggerated proportions, and the pin on awards are undersized...all that being said, poses are good.

Thanks for the info Rod. I'm glad that they have included extra arms. That solves the question of why the box art and finished product photos looked different.
I'm kind of used to the amount of cleanup on Dragon figures...they're much more work than some other manufacturers especially with the harder plastic that Dragon uses. It's not nice to sand/sculpt!
I normally remove the collar tabs, shoulder boards, belt buckles and medals/badges and replace with PE parts so I know exactly what you mean about these...
Thank you for the info!

You're welcome Mike!
Its a good set, despite the shortcomings I pointed out. I do the same things you do, new collar tabs and shoulder boards greatly improve these sets...waiting for some Hornet head sets to arrive so I can work on mine...

I have never used hornet heads...but I'm beginning to think I should give them a try. They look much better than the kit ones!

Hornet heads are spectacular! Several styles of SS headgear as well....Officer peaked caps, crusher caps, and sidecaps, and a few more....a must have for making ALL 1/35 figures look good!

I'm not one to judge, but if that is your thing...
...it will likely become a Netflix series.

You might also want to take a look at some of the Alpine Miniatures Panzer and SS headsets. The Hornet heads are beautifully sculpted and very animated, but they all tend to be the same shape - a long, slender face. The Alpine heads IMHO, are a bit more individual. And there are a lot of SS Panzer crew heads.

Hi Pete.
I couldn't open the picture you posted but is there only one set of arms in the kit?

The picture is showing Mike, but yes, there is only one set of arms for the figures and they are the ones where they are standing hand to hand holding one another.

Thanks Pete.
I can see the picture now and it looks like the parts only make up the figures with their arms around each other, as you said. That's disappointing.
So this brings me back to my original question of why does Dragon show box art of figures in one pose when the box is opened you get figures in totally different poses?
While this set looks like it is well made, having the figures standing in the poses they are in makes the set extremely unversatile. You can basically only use them to depict the famous Wittman photo.

That is a question that only Dragon can answer.
