Well I want to thank everyone who took part in this months User of the Month award. I am most humbled to announce that.....I won!

woo hoo!! Oh sorry. I was saying humble wasn't I?

For those who don't know the whole backstory here, the first month we had this award I removed myself from the running. I was "persuaded" by many kind comments to allow myself to be nominated this time. I am pleased that so many of you wanted to see me get credited for all my work here. I am truly touched.

Humble Thanks,
Jim

Glad to see we've fixed that road apple!

Rob,
Last month must have been awkward. Having a secret handshake that was only known to one person. Did your left hand shake your right hand ?

Congrats to all elite members.

BTW, Jim, would it not be interesting to add the medal and the "moderator" ribbons to the list of ranks in your 'help" link at the bottom of the page. I bet that new users don"t understand their meaning. It took me over a week before I figured out what the "M" ribbon stood for. Just a hint...

For July, my vote goes to Gunnie or Ken.
Then again, I appreciate Anders' efforts to put some life in the figures business too. Would be nice to stimulate "new" members too, not only generals...

Maybe there should be a page with a poll vote on it for members to vote for the nominated persons. Makes it easier for everybody to see who is running away with it for that month.
Can a winner be nominated again?

Congrats Jim. (but there wasnt much competition in it this month)
All the best

Sarge,
Well I "could" have set it up that way, but I felt it would be better to collect the voting data and then post the winner. I am doing the same practice on the Armor contest. I think this helps elmimate the temptation to try to "sway" the vote so to speak. After all if users knew their favorite user was only two votes away from winning, some users "might" use some unscrupulous methods of posting additional votes. This kind of award is more like the Academy Awards. You never know who came in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, with those either.

A winner can not win this award a second time. Therefore there is no reason for a second nomination. A user that has been nominated before (and not won) can certainly be nominated again in future months.

Thanks,
Jim

Jan,
Thanks for the suggestion. I really need to overhaul all the help and announcement info on the site. I will add this to the list.

In the meantime the medal has always been clickable and goes to the User of the Month page. It also has roll-over text as does the moderator ribbon.

Cheers,
Jim
