Guys - on Jeffs recommendation on my other thread, I grabbed a couple of the Heller 1/72 Shermans and doo like the fit/quality so far.

I have T-51's on order from OKB but since I bought a couple of kits, figured I might try to prime/paint/weather the rubber T-51's on this first one. Also wont have to shim the drive sprocket as I've read.

I've not seen the OKB T-51's in person, but have used their other tracks an love them. Anyone know if there will be a huge difference in detail if I use the rubber vs. okb on this first one?

Brian,

I do not have a set of the OKB Grigorov T54E1 tracks, but I think these two pictures show you the differences:

Heller M4A2 Sherman "Division Leclerc" T54E1 Tracks (on the left):

OKB Grigorov T54E1 Tracks:

both pictures are from Modeling the Sherman Tank in 1/72 Scale, www.172shermans.com

I feel the Heller tracks are fine, but if you want the best looking, most detailed tracks, you can't go wrong with the OKB Grigorov ones. BUT, they are not cheap!

I agree - the Heller tracks are fine as the OKBs I think will be out of scale. I have the trumpeter Shermans and see the tracks are too thin and will have to increase the sprockets + 1.5mm
