Working on this Meng M911 HET got me thinking about the history of tank transporters in the US ARMY
In WW1 they used a Mack AC
In WW2 it was the M19 then the M26
Korea it was the M26A1
Vietnam was the M123
then the M746
then came the M911
now we have the M1070
The big question is what was used in the interwar period after the Mack AC and before the M19
Any thoughts?
building a model of all of them would be difficult but not impossible

I always thought that a history of tank transporters is a good topic for a Nick Moran video. Tanks don't self deploy after all, you can't have one without the other. I've built the Dragon Wagon and the M1070/M1000 and am looking forward to building the M911 soon. I've been waiting for the HobbyBoss release but since I have been totally impressed with the Meng kits i've built so far, maybe I won't wait. Mark

I am building the Meng one for a commision build for a fellow modeler I started it at 7pm and finished off the frame
at midnight
As far as kits go MMK makes a resin Mack AC in 1 35
and tank workshop makes a resin M123 tractor
you can convert the M15 trailer from Tamiya's Dragon Wagon to the M15A1 and use it with the M123
the one kit that is missing is the M746 8x8 tractor
if there was a kit of it you could use the trailer from the M911 kit for the M746/M747 transporter
