I have never seen these tracks before either, as the one we had on our bv206 it had 1 single track with no end connectors.. And this was 3 years ago.. Maybe it's a german upgrade ?

Suppose the BV "sectioned" rubber track is built this way to make easier replacement/repair like in the latest Soucy types made for bigger AFVs like the CV90 series.

Never seen this, even not in the internet. But the last German BV206D I have seen in reality was about 15 years ago. I have photographed these at Baumholder, Fürstenau and Munster during driver training. However, your guess might be right, regarding replacement of damaged sections.
Regarding the "old" tracks, these look very much like the BV206S tracks of Takom..

The tracks I`ve saw are made of 4 sections of rubberband, connected by end connectors like on Wiesel tracks. But I noticed that it was not on all tracks. Maybe these measurement was take to ease track replacement.

Can you please explain what think section tracks are? I have seen and photographed German army BV206D a couple of times about 15 years ago in driver training centers, I noticed 2 different typs of tracks which differed in the treads, but they were explained to me and looked to me like endless.

Had today the chance to compare BV 206 and BV206S. Can answer the question about swapping the track with the Firing Line kit with a sheer NO! BV206S track are more beefy any all respects. I also learned the German BV206D has section tracks, not endless ones.

How about a Canadian version.

Hope you are right and TAKOM is looking at other Hägglunds, now part of BAE Systems Global Combat Systems, versions.

The British only use the unarmoured BV206 which is very different from the Takom kit (see the BV206 image that Gino posted above). The BVS10 (Viking) used by the Royal Marines is also a bigger, heavier vehicle than the 206S so the two may look visually similar but are actually completely different types. The Viking also has a different suspension system.

It's great to see the BV 206S in plastic but it isn't something that can be adapted to either of the other vehicles without a complete rebuild of most of the vehicle.

Had the pleasure to ride in the back of a BV206. Was loud and rough on cobblestones, but great fun.

Bundeswehr Gebirgsjäger use the BV 206 and BV 206S. BV 206 carry the Platt m.g. mount adapted for MG 3. Definitly a Musthave.

The French Army still have some Bv 206S in service, but they're progressively phased out and replaced with the upgraded version BvS 10 Mk2 seen below :

US uses the older version (BV206) as the M973 SUSV. It is a totally different vehicle.
