Now when PSM come out with the German Leopard Dachs i wounder if Germany used the Dachs in Afghanistan? If so is it A1 or A2 version? I assume it's the A2 version.. Does anyone know a picture of them in Afghanistan ? I have search but not find any yet... What colour are they painted in ? Dessert colour like the Panzerhaubitze 2000 , desert yellow and green ? Or Nato colours ?
Thankful for any help.. Have a fine easter holiday

Pick up the Tankograd GECON-ISAF book as it has some pics of the Dachs 2A1 in Afghanistan.

If you look at the hull sides you can tell the difference. Traditionally mounted tools in brackets on the A1 while the A2 uses storage bins for the majority of the externally mounted items.

Thanks, Jason!
But those with storage bins are designated PiPz A1 Dachs...

I see your point. The original production Dachs is designated as the Pionierpanzer 2A1 Dachs.
The question then would be did the variant designation change when the upgrades, such as the external bins, were added.
Did the designation change to 2A2 or simply remain as 2A1 after the upgrades?
In the Tankograd book on Modern German Army Armoured Engineer Vehicles (published in 2005) the designation for the basic production Dachs is 2A1. In the Tankograd GECON-ISAF book (published in 2011) the designation of the upgraded Dachs is still listed as 2A1.
Perhaps the designations were not changed or maybe they were changed or maybe further upgrades have been done to get the 2A2 designation.
