Yep that guy you posted on July 25th & now these three – they’re breathing alright. I think I can just make out the suspender-guy’s hand’s dirty enough to have made that handprint but I’ll need a close up to run it past Forensics. Superb JR

Thanx Jer, greatly appreciated!
Had a feeling about that, that it's def a worthy investment for -maybe- one of the issues, but not completely a must have for all of the issues....$$$
Just absorbing all your fine "work" yet again, that is when I can pry myself away from real life.
Following along as usual per the unofficial lurker rules, whatever those are...
Cheers
Dave

Cheyenne,Mike,Tim,Maarten and Dave you guys rock and thanks so much for checking in this boring thread and making such nice comments. I can always count of the "Old Guard" to weigh in.
Slathered some paint on the other fella. I went with the Captured Italian cammo cloth custom type of Panzer jacket here with the Leather U Boat trousers popular with LAH and HJ tankers.
Have a look-see,
Thanks for checking in lurkers,
J

Hello Jerry
They're looking great.
Once again you show your ability to put these guys in really natural poses that imeediately "tell the story".
Excellent.
The paint job on their camouflage uniforms is something to admire as well. If I can get half that good a result....
Keep it up, look forward to further photos and updates.
Cheers

Thanks Sean for the encouraging comments. It made my day !
Here is the couriers' bike. Out of the box but I added the brake and throttle cables and the riders' personal gear. I had to hand paint the runes as none were provided in the excellent Tamiya kit. Curious because the box art depicts a WSS bike !
I also had to alter the saddlebags as I needed the later version which were sheet steel. I include pics of the kit version and my mod.
The bike
and where it will fit into the scene. Still more groundwork, etc to finish here.
Thanks for looking,commenting and lurking,
J

Thanks Nick,very kind remarks.
I always think of words like "slathered" and "gobbed" and "basted" when I look at the enlarged images of my painting. Can't help it bro.
Yes,the summer has blown quite a few tumbleweeds through here lately. Hope it improves one of these days,

Jerry, you caught me lurking away! I watch in awe as you create. I am amazed at your figure creating and painting skills. I am however nearly speechless when viewing your subtle but very realistic use of water. That is beautiful work.

Dear Mr. Rutman,
Another nice chapter in your 3 dimensional Modeling Book about "German Activities in Western France"! The 'only' thing missing is the smell and sound of test running engines!!!
(But for sure you will find a solution for that soon, I am sure)
With reference to your remark about the lack of SS decals since a few years, you are awfully right: they should be in.
Though legally not allowed in Germany and a small minority elswhere, they at least should be in there for the rest of the world.
I don't think any modeler of AFV or other vehicles or persons will use these decals to create a political (questionable) statement. For sure this could be done much easier with other means.......
Therefore, I realy hope that Tamiya, amongst others, will 'get back to the past' as SS license plates, SS helmet decals etc. were part of the decal set.
(At this moment I have the challenge to find SS licence plates for trucks, used by SS units in eastern Europe in 1944.)
Looking forward to see this field workshop growing.
CHAPEAU for your work and thanks for sharing.
Paul

Thanks Paul for the very very generous comments. It is too bad about the decals but I think aftermarket ones must be available somewhere? I am sure I have seen them, but I don't pay attention that much to them as I seldom build a vehicle or use them on helmets because they were not used mach in 1944.
Thanks again buddy,

Thanks Tim!
For the water coming out the 2 spouts I used stretched clear sprue. The deeper water in the basin and the splashes are liquitex acrylic gel,an old favorite of mine. The water in the cobblestones is just paint and gloss varnish. Cheap and easy.
