Just finished this build using the great Tamiya Humvee as a base withs loads of spares, scratch-building and custom printed decals to finish it off.

Thanks Phil, they were brass rod, heated/annealed and bent round a plasticard former.

Did you put anything inside, like a bending spring, to stop it kinking or wrinkling as you bent it, or did you just rely on the annealing?

I used solid brass so theres no kinking - i just relied on the annealing. BUt I had to heat it pretty well. Best thing to do is make a former so you can match both parts and it makes bending it a little easier. Still took me a few goes though..

Does anyone know what duties this Hummer variant is assigned to? By the look of it I would say it's used by one (or more) of the many IDF special units, but I'm not sure...

Solid brass rod always tends to work much better for me.

I’m not sure what this version is but i have seen the mortar towing version and it looks very similar. There’s also a Gil version that looks similar too and probably a dozen or so other types I’m planning a Gil anti tank version soon

I’m not sure what this version is but i have seen the mortar towing version and it looks very similar. There’s also a Gil version that looks similar too and probably a dozen or so other types I’m planning a Gil anti tank version soon

This mortar towing version is based on Galit, it's called Galit Machmat and has a little bit different equipment at the back (racks for mortar rounds etc). Plain Galit is, I guess, just basic patrol vehicle.

I don’t think so. That would be called Hummer Siyur. The Galit designation might simply indicate the raised roll-bar.
