I was surprised to find no examples when I looked for them, beyond some pictures of people standing upon them carrying the ISIS flag. Didn't these people bother to put national markings on their vehicles?

What national markings? They were/are not a nation. Usually they had just the ISIS flag painted on the doors and/or hood.



With stolen military vehicles, like the Iraqi HMMWV below, they just hung their flag on them.
