For Tamiya paints I use regular run-of-the-mill Rubbing Alcohol - 70% Isopropyl.
I do not use enamels so I can't offer much help there, although generic Mineral Spirits should work fine.
Wait for more responses.

I agree with Kencelot. Use Alcohol on Acrylic paints. For Enamel paints, I recommend good ol' paint thinner from the Hardware store (I repeat PAINT THINNER, not Lacquer thinner).

As Kencelot said, alcohol is a good thinner for Tamiya paints (and most acrylics). Sometimes, if it's drying too fast (nozzle clogging after a short time, pebble finish on the model), I'll mix in a tiny, TINY drop of windex as a wetting agent.

Hilarious! I've been so tempted to do that! Laquer-based metalizer paints spray so beautifully, and laquer thinner is such an awesome airbrush cleaner, that I've really thought about that. The fumes, though... #:-) .

Someone suggested to me 90% rubbing alcohol for Tamiya acrylics, but I find that has 2 problems - it dries way too fast and if you're brushing it can strip any previous coats of paint. I've switched to the lower grade (and much cheaper) 70% and am much happier. The 90% works well for brush cleanup, and light acrylic paint stripping.
For enamels I use paint thinner. It's just a standard can that I got at the hardware store.
I use Lacquer thinner for cleanup of just about everything, though. If my airbrush is getting really bad I'll even spray some through it, though I wear a respirator mask and have my vent fan turned on high when doing that.

Yeah - I keep the air moving through my room with a couple of fans. They also come in handy with these 80+ degree late-winter days we're having out here in California. Best winter days I've ever experienced since returning from Okinawa...

Tips?
Hmmm - I use Lacquer Thinner full-strength all of the time without problems. I shoot clean Lacquer Thinner through my airbrush and backflush with it. I never have to take my brush apart.
I shoot Tamiya Acrylics and thin them from 50% up to 80% with Lacquer Thinner. No problems with coverage either. I don't think Model Master Acryl because this paint mix is really thin already and doesn't need further thinning. I don't shoot any other acrylic paint brand with enough regularity to comment of them and their compatability with Lacquer Thinner.
I don't shoot enamels or lacquers either...
