All's quiet on the RMG front - the end of the operation is fast approaching and I know everyone is busily working on thier entries to get them in. This is good for building, but its kinda quiet in the Dio. Forum..... So here goes.
Here is where I am with my Door-to-Door diorama. I have 'destroyed' my building, affied the road and applied the first round of paint.
Here it was 2 weeks ago:
Here it is today (sorry for the poor images )
Comments - thoughts - etc etc........ How are you all doing?

My plans changed completely. I wanted to do a British PIAT team taking cover behind a disbaled 251. Now, I am building a Panther stopped by a park fence. The crew is scanning the sky towards the sound of approaching aircraft. I should be done with no trouble.

Hi all
I was moving along at a nice clip when trouble hit. I found that the Anti Tank weapon I was planning on using came in two versions, and I had the wrong version. the new weapon is on order from Military Hobbies and work has slowed to a crawl. I may submit a small fig dio if I don't get the gun in time. We will see what happens

This is Sunray.......
HQ was overrun by enemy forces (two cats that disliked eachother), had to withdraw for a short while. Now back into battle with a slight change of plan..... Fighting time as we speak. Confident to meet the deadline though.

my street corner diobase and 6 figures are painted . It will be an Eindhoven diorama and there will be no ruins.so I have no chance to fill my diorama with debris :-) and the street looked so clean and empty to my eyes .I am thinking how to add a few details to change that and finish the dio.
Scott- destroying it after building must be harder than to built it destroyed. plaster walls can be destroyed easily but how you destroyed the roof?

Graywolf - actually, it was counter intuative. The plaster was harder to destroy than the roof. The walls are 13mm thick and the plaster was rock hard. I had to drill a lot of holes along the 'crack' then connect them with the back of a #11. Then I 'roughed' up the edge to make it more realistic. It took quite a bit to get through it.
The roof I was worried about the wood 'over splintering'. I just, help each side of the 'crack' Really tightly with between my fingers and used a bit of twisting motion to break it. The rafters took a bit of help with a pin vice. The individual shingles were done with a pair of tweezers.
I think it was rough conceptually breaking all that hard work.

The shingles are cedar shingles from a doll house. The originals were twice as thick as necessary and 6 times as big. I sanded down each one to an acceptable thickness, cut it in 6 pieces and glued them on a roof section one by once. Easy and time consuming - patience!!!
Kancali is doing the diorama with the parachut in it and his is coming along pretty well.

Hi! I like the second shot showing the interior of building from above, particulary the
splintered attic floor. Neat shot looking down on 3 layers of destruction!. I think the roof
and structure is gonna look great when weathered. Keep it up and looking forward to
the end result.. seeya

Here is a front view of what I am working on. I think the figures are finished. Have to add some stowage to the AFV and do the whole base thing.

I like your figure bases. Are those old credit cards? Good idea.
