Revell's Leo 2A6 kit has decals for a Panzer Lehr track with a "WFOR" marking. An OPFOR team for training exercises?

Hi!
WFOR is an abbreviation used by the unit "Panzerlehrbrigade 9" based at Munster in northern Germany and is the defending party in their demonstrations of military tactics and vehicles. Regarding to an article, it is "Wettina Force", a fictional NATO force that strikes back in a military aggression caused by an invasion of "Seeland", a fictional aggressor. Therefore, you will find the WFOR markings only on vehicles of this special armoured warefare training unit.

Danke sehr. I thought it was for a training force. Sound more impressive than "blue force" , "red force".

Hi Timothy,
Andreas gave a detailed answer already, but here're some pictures you might find interesting:

I'm sure I have more "WFOR" Leo pictures at home, even with yellow "WFOR" markings. I'll see if I find them later.
By the way, for general reference, check out these albums:

Awesome photos, Johannes.
You're welcome
As promised, I checked my references. Strangely, I did not find the pictures I had clearly in my mind (should I worry?). However, this is another interesting "WFOR" variant:
Even if they're not the ones I had hoped for, here're two more Leo 2A6s of "WFOR":
Hard to read, but they are "WFOR".
Kind regards,
Johannes
