Hello All,
I am starting Dragon kit # 6624 Mid Tiger 1 and just had some question about the optional parts, I am building Unit 11 ABT 506 Western Ukraine April - May 1444
Should I use parts
Q7 or Q8 (roadwheel) Q5 or Q6 (roadwheel) Q1 or Q2 (roadwheel)
Install S hook TB8
Install Fire extinguisher TA6
Shovel Y12 or Y13
Machine gun mount on copula D12,D18,D19
Vent D10 or D6
Gun lock up as on piece or folded to side
I have checked Tiger1 info and tried to pull up pics
Any help would be great
Thank you
Jeff

I'm no expert, so take it as a grain of salt. I was looking for these information just like you a few months ago for my middle production Tiger and my Tiger is still unfinished... I don't build the same kit, but I see the instructions on the Internet.
About the road wheels, you have to use them all. Each side of the Tiger needs 24 road wheels and each D sprue also has 24 road wheels. So this is not even optional. The only option is that some Tiger Es don't use the outer road wheels assume because of shortage. Therefore, just remove 4 wheels each side, which should give 20 wheels each side. These wheels are the Q1 and Q2, which are the same part with different number for no reason... Dragon instruction is absolutely terrible here.
The copula MG is dependent to the crew to mount it or not... So even the very same Tiger can have the MG one day then without it the next day...
No S hook, Mr.Bryden, author of Tiger1.info, said it on another Mid production kit.
I have no idea about the rest.
Hope this help somehow.

TB8 is not an S hook; it is a C hook.
It is depicted in steps 5 and 9.
TA6 is depicted in step 9.
Shovel Y13 is needed only for Tiger "6".
The MG mount was usually not installed on these Tigers.
D10 is the underwater seal, usually not installed.
The gun lock could be in either position as needed.

To all
Thank you so much you guys are what make this hobby special
David, I have emailed you directly before and hate doing that as I feel like a pest. But each and every time you reply, your tiger1 site is incredible and I use it each time I plan out a kit. I cannot thank you enough for the information you provide
Sincerely
Jeff
