Is it true that Tamiya will release a kit of this?

Tamiya have released at least 5 Kits of the M4A3E8 over the years. The first two were an old mixed scale kit of the 70's in both Motorized and Controlled Motorized versions with lovely Korean War tiger stripe artwork.
They reboxed the Excellent ASUKA/TASCA version a few back with Tamiya US Infantry figures.
Shortly after (about two yrs ago) they released their own version of a WW2 M4A3E8 which was well recieved. This year they released a Korean War Version of the same kit with a few minor changes.
As of yet they have not announced plans for a 48th version in case that is what you were asking about.

Hobby Boss released one some 10 years ago. Wasn't bad but could use some work:

Should be announced in next month's show in Japan. No word on whether it will be the WW2 or Korean War version.

Thanks guys. Was interested in a quarter scale kit. Thought it was too good to be true.

1/48 M4A3E8 has been announced on a couple of sites.

Although I think the built-up model is their Korean War version

That is a place holder image because that build is actually the 1/35 M4A3E8 Korean War kit. Until they release an actual box top the actual configuration remains unknown.

I have just seen on another siite that had a Tamiya leaflet. It will be an E8 with early tracks and no mantel cover. All new tooling. So WWII it is.

If I am not wrong, Aurora made a 1/48th kit.

Yeah, but that will be the worst of the worst. Bandai made some that were probably better!

So true Brother! The Easy Eight opens up even more conversion possibilities along with the already available kits.

A 1/48 M-51 comes to mind or maybe an M-40 for the arty folks.

Bandai only did M4A1 and M4A3 VVSS (with 75, 76 and 105 mm turrets). Aurora's old M4A3E8 hasn't been seen since it was issued in a diorama display with Monogram's Fw-190.

Hobby Boss did one over ten years ago that was not that bad a kit. Hull issues were corrected, but the suspension was reported slightly too tall. However, the model is nice.
