Military modelers should be enthusiastic about this model, too. It can be an eye-catching part of an Eastern Front vignette, or an component of a larger diorama. As ubiquitous a handcars were, no doubt this model can be incorporated into scenes in other countries.

Interesting model. What comes to mind isn't the Russian steps, but Blazing Saddles!
IIRC, though, the stereotypical US handcar had a seesaw drive, not a rowing one; the rowing handcars tended to be three-wheel designs, where the rider sat on the two-wheel side like a bicycle.
