Was this version used in Afghanistan or in Iraq ?
Curiously, no rear mudguards on this one.
What is the function of the big elevated flat part ?

Alex, there are four versions of the WMIK: OWMIK, EWMIK, RWMIK & RWMIK+. But, I believe all of them saw service in either Iraq and/or Afghanistan, or both.
And, I'm not sure of the purpose of flat part on the front portion of the roof of the RWMIK+.
Maybe someone can answer that question. Is it armor? Is it for mounting anti IED equipment? Is it both? Or none of the above?
