This will be my RMG entry ; a corner on Hertogstraat,Eindhoven. The building, sidewalks and cobblestone road are carved from plaster blocks. The door and window frames are balsa. Windows are acetate from a transparent ID card cover.Rainpipe is lollipop sticks glued together and added a few rings from lead foil. The ORANJE flag is aluminium foil painted in enamels. Hydrant is scratch-built from plastic, epoxy putty and lead foil with the info provided by Robert FAUST Blokker... to show Rob's help on my dio :-) I added a Martini sign from FAUST Vintage Collection No.1 Dutch Commercial signs. They are really high quality. Painted in enamels, washed in oils, weathered in pastels.

6 figures will be added to the diobase. Comments and critics are welcome as always...and I am waiting for your suggestions how to add some dirty details to the street or please tell me the streets of Eindhoven are always clean.

WOW. Thats all i have to say ...
Ok i ll tell some more..The setup in such a lil space is very nice and the tall building adds respect to the dio by any means. I wish your pictures had a lil more light to show off the fine carving work on road pavement and building, The road sign is perfectly fitted in the scene and very realistically weathered, as well as the hydrant that i know was build from zero and looks perfect. Waiting to see the figures in it , i bet on a superb dio , that has showed character from the base!! I belive that some weathering could take place on door and windows to show some aging , but on the streets i believe that other than some (leaves possibly) or papers or small stuff like that could not be added since you dont have rumble or destroyed stuff left overs. It looks like a wet place with humidity (from the colours occuring in your base) so i dont know how much dusting could be presented there..
Kepp on till the end like this Bro it is absolutely nice

Ola Engin

This is truely awesome. Very nice paintwork and a convincing setting you created here. Cant`s wait to see the figures being added to the base as I`m sure they will do some good work there.
Now for dirtying up the streets of Eindhoven you have to imagine yourself that they came to liberate Eindhoven. The streets will be littered with Confetti. you can have some of the little Dutch flags that the people of Eindhoven were waving with lying on the ground. Further adding leaves is the gutter next to the sidewalk. Leaves against the side of he house on the ground. Some grasses that grow at the base of the building between the pavement of the sidewalk. Have some papers (could be illegal resistance papers) lying around or a nice poster with a big orange "V" on it.
Those are a couple of items I would aspect lying around at that time.

By the way I love the Orange Flag

Great job, I like it very much. I can certainly relate to the carving, it's hard work but worth it to get what you want. I like the painting, were you going to do anything with the motar between the bricks? I think that would put it over the top. Again great job can't wait to see the final product!

Very nice job. Well done for scratch building. You've outdone yourself.
One question - do you have confirmation of the cobble/brick color of the street bricks? There was a related thread and the concensus in that thread was that the color of the road bricks was more red than gray? Just asking - it doesn't distract from the diorama at all.

Thanks ALL for the nice comments and help.
Costas-adelfe moy; I will add a lil more weathering to the window frames and door. Leaves is a good detail to add but I hesitated to do it thinking it can be weird to have a scene with leaves with no trees on the dio. :-)
Robert- Thanks again for the very good idea of Confetti,Nederlands Flags and resistance papers. you helped me great in this diorama with your nice and Fauster than wind ideas.
İlhan-thanks brother. some build dios, some build armor :-)
nato308- i will try to simulate the mortar between bricks weathering in white or light grey pastel chalks.
Scott- I made a big internet and book reference search before this diorama and found different photos of brick or cobblestone road.most of them were b/w and a few were in colors. I think there were red brick, grey brick and grey cobblestone roads in Holland during ww2. this is one of the reference photos I used as reference:

Danny- Writing an article for this dio will be my honor after the campaign because as we talked before this campaign gave me more than modelling with the great leadership of Robert and You.

best regards all

Sweet looking dio, nice choice of colors for the build, street etc.
Any progress to report on the figure side?
