Thanks for the review Kevin. Given the "I" shape of the ribs, which seems correctly reproduced in photoetch, I guess it is going to be quite hard to wrap it around the barrel... What is your opinion?

I would agree, but am thinking that it you heat up the photo-etched, it might help.

I don't think the PE-strips are the complete I.
Look at the resin barrels and the rings already in place.
Two thirds of the I-profile is already in place, like an inverted T. The groove in the middle of the PE-strips are probably the surface that gets glued to the "foot" of the inverted T.
If my guess is correct it is a matter of shaping a flat strip of brass into a circle. The PE-strips could be replaced with strips of styrene if that seems easier to work with.

The broken rings worry me more, it will take a lot of work to restore the missing bits of the I-profiles.
File down to get a straight line, CA-glue a strip of styrene and then get the whole back to a "perfect" circle ...

Always useful, I might be tempted to pick up a few of these for the refueling dio I had long had planned.

i agree, from the photos it seems that the PE are only the last part of the profile the other part is in resin
