Is this kit a limited edition? I only seem to see it available on Japanese websites and I was going to wait until it was available elsewhere at a lower price to by it, but I don't want to miss out. Thanks

it's just the Tiki kit with different markings on the decal sheet.

Yes, and it seems that kit has markings for "S34" so you should be able to alter them pretty easily.

Are you sure that's true? The tiki kit has unique parts exclusive to "tiki" only. Or did you mean you can build S33 from the kit without using the tiki-specific parts?

The latter according to David Byrden, as he states that the same sprues are in each kit. Since the two tanks were from the same unit they should be very similar. The Tiki has a lot of unused parts per Dragon's usual MO, so it seems possible.

I found a comparison on 1999.co.jp and it seems that there is one extra sprue in the S33 kit- Sprue D1. I can't tell what parts are used on it, though when I scanned the directions.

I'm looking at both kits right now and don't see a D1, just a D. Both kits contain identical sprues and both seemingly don't use the same pieces making them outwardly identical from what I can tell. Only the decals seem to set them apart.

I looked back on the old "Tiki" thread. I guess basically the same kit but the Tiki kit has extra parts such as custom wide storage bin, unique mantlet, altered cleaning rod setup and modified exhaust covers. Presumably the other versions can be built up if you choose to use the "not for use" parts. However, obviously you can't make a Tiki from a non- Tiki kit as it lacks the specific Tiki parts.

I was going from the instructions here https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10524216
They appear to have two sets of instructions listed, though.

The extra sprue in "S33" is from the Late Tiger series and I believe only one part is used; the mantlet.

With those parts you can build most Tigers of the period.

Thanks David. I am sure I can find the mantlet in resin somewhere.

I see that now. That's not very helpful to blend the instructions of two different kits in one listing.
