Most recently, units of 2nd Bde 1st ID did a tactical roadmarch from Grafenwöhr Training Area to Hohenfels JMRC.

From the modellers perspective, how can I do such large area chipping of the green color?

Great videos.

Always good to see the most recent vehicle lineup, camo, colours and gear.

But as far as the chipping goes, I think it's actually the light dust from JMRC area that is picked up while driving. Looks like they didn't have any rain or wetness whatsoever. It really covers like a sob. Hardly any of the original colours come through. You can't even tell if they are 3 tone NATO or Desert Yellow sometimes.
Also, seems like all the Bradleys and M1068s were Forest Green all over. With a lot of dust again.

First time I've seen MATV MRAP too in this area.

And camo nets were on sale it seems too. These too get dusted a lots.

1. I don't remember the vehicles when we did our tactical road march back in 2010 with the Slovenians. I do remember using old ALICE rucks with 120 lbs. of "lightweight" gear.

2. It's water based green paint. See it washing off at 32:26.

3. Large areas can be "chipped" by putting large pieces of irregularly shaped (jagged edged) masking tape over the sand before spraying green. Or large square cut pieces representing those areas where the IFF panels were.

My old unit... Back in the early 80s and we were riding old worn out M60A1s.

It's good to see U.S. Army tanks back in Germany... IMHO.

At 1:11 or so into the first video, you seem some Brads with very large side mounted TWO launchers (seem much wider then the standard unit). Is this a new-mod? Don't recall having seen this before.

Just a random thought - 60 years after they first were driving down German autobahns, US M113's are still trucking down those same roads. Crazy....

in the video at 1:11 its not a reg Bradly its the varient that replaced the M981 fist

The tracks called Bradley Fire Support Team or BFIST. Serves teh same purpose as the M981, but having an LRAS sensor in the housing. Depending upon teh source, it´s either M3A3 BFIST or M7 A3.

Great videos!!! Making me a little home sick. Don't do much modern stuff but really feeling the pull to build a M1070 Tractor & Semi-Trailer with an M88 on the back Enjoyed seeing all the Paladins with their FAASV.
