Now you don't have to play second fiddle to the San Diego M60. Really, who steals a M577?

That's one of the problems with journalists, in some parts of the world they do not know the truth and in other parts of the world they can not tell the truth even if they know it

I have heard Swedish journalists say 'tank' about BMP-3, the BMP-3 has a turret at least ....

I even heard people referring to a a plastic 20 gallon container as a tank. Infuriating.

"Virginia Army National Guard Lieutenant". I'm thinking this might reflect poorly on his next OER.

This brings up the question, "when are we going to get a new tooled M577 or an M1068?"

If AFV Club would step up to the plate with a M577 I'd be very happy.

I would take an interior kit. at one point there was some work being done on one- but I cannot remember who. An interior is what will make the model.

We had them in our HQ company. We all hoped that their size and heat signatures would get them targeted quickly...

At least he was competent enough not to immobilize himself by getting a freeway barrier wedged between the tracks and hull, like the M60 idiot did.

I actually have very fond memories of the M577A1. As a young Lieutenant in Germany in the early 70's, I was a Field Artillery Fire Direction Officer and spent an entire year with that as the vehicle for our FDC and really enjoyed it. I especially appreciated it when for one set of field exercises, B-2 was deadlined and we had to go to the field and set up operations in a GP Small tent. I can tell you having to lug the 4.2KW Generator for the lights and radios and the 3KW and the FADAC on and off the Supply truck which carried all our stuff out made us really appreciate the old girl.

Apparently it was a young company commander! 1LT Joshua Yabut of the Virginia National Guard took it while spaced out on drugs. He managed to not injure anyone and apparently didn't damage any property. He had his personal sidearm but no ammunition. His unit, an Engineering company, was training at Fort Pickett when he took the track and went for a drive.

We definitly need new-tooled M577 AND M1068. Recently saw a bunch of them on a train in Parsberg. There were even a track converted from an M113.

Truf but the way he has it stopped it implies a standard curbed median can defeat a M1068. Not a good look and waste of 15 mins. The SD guy left most with yeah a tank can't cross a jersey barrier impression.

Dude in San Diego got stuck on the Jersey barrier because he hit it wrong and hung his tank on it. Had he hit it perpendicularly, he would've been just fine. Glad he hit it wrong, actually.
