Hi,

I would like to build a Das Reich Tiger at Spring/Summer '43. Are the Star Decals color schemes correct ie. dark yellow and green stripes over the dark gray base?
Thanks in advance!

Oh, no, absolutely not.
No Das Reich Tiger was ever painted grey. Read Doyle and Jentz; they tell us that DR got ten Tigers during the time that grey was still in use, but these Tigers were painted "tropical". Meaning they looked like Bovington's "131".

DR whitewashed their Tigers before going into battle at Kharkiv.

In March, they painted the tanks. We are not sure what colours were used, but they look very much like the standard 1943 colours (red, green, Dunkelgelb). And the tanks wore this paint all summer.

DR got some new Tigers in May (with spare tracks on the turrets) and they apparently arrived in "tropical", but they got painted with camouflage too.

Out of sheer curiosity, what is with the Chinese looking markings on Co.8's tanks? CO's dad a Boxer Rebellion vet? Some sort of Tsingtao connection?
