I noticed that the interior of my Trumpeter is hollow. Are there any available resin/PE available to detail the interior? Not just the crew compartment but the engine as well? Even with the DML Abrams having an interior, it still feel hollow. I'm attempting to superdetail this one especially opening up even the rear one. :-)

Just about all the Abrams kits have the exact same dimensions. Many of the newer kits repeat the same errors as the original Tamiya M1. I would imagine that the Verlinden interior set for the Tamiya/Academy M1A1 would work for the Trumpeter kit.
There are several engine options, I have both the Kirin engine and Legends engine. I have not tried either in a Trumpter Abrams kit though. The Legends engine set is more comprehensive than the Kirin set.
None of the sets I mention are super accurate; however, they do add missing detail that improves the model and should be accurate enough for the casual observer.

Thanks Sabot! I've actually seen the Legends one via online while waiting for a reply. Can you direct me to Kirin's site?

Are all those interior parts included in the set or some of those parts used are DML ones?

Well that's good news! BTW, are those detail set applicable to all Abrams or only to M1A1 variants?

Well, since most of the interior parts on the verlinden set are innaccurate at best, they will still be just as innaccurate on the M1A2 as they are on the A1.

You must've been bitten by the AMS bug SR. I can't wait to see your finished build on this one. A lot of the people here could help you out in this undertaking, including me of course. #:-) Anyway good luck & best regards.

Thanks for the help cardinal, well, the first AMS bit me when I get interested in the Verlinden sets for the Hasegawa F-16C and F-14A. They're not yet finish though. Since then, extreme detailing syndrome (EDS) started with my F-16C and AV-8B. This is one disease I can't cure! Make it two. :-) #:-)

hey s-r...just so you know the KIRIN set is OOP...the company has been out of business for quite a few years now. Best place to find it now would be eBay.
That said, the interior inthe DML M1 kits should be a comparable fit...
