I'm getting started on an Asuka Firefly IC and the special tracks insert says to use lacquer paint for the the tracks, not enamel. OK, but what about Tamiya paint? I airbrush Tamiya bottled paint normally, is this OK for use on these tracks? A friend in the Workhorses Campaign forum says he's used Valejo and it worked fine, but I want to be sure.
Thanks!
Michael

Well if you use tamiya round bottles those are acrylic lacquers, so they are ok, if they are square bottles those are enamels and therefore not ok. You should be safe with mr hobby aqueous as well, same thing, acrylic lacquer

I use the round bottles, so it sounds good to me. Thanks, I love KitMaker, always help available when you need it!

I used Tamiya on my Asuka kit, then tried to add some weathering. Just in handling and weathering most of the paint came off. I thinned my paint with 97% alcohol, so maybe that affected the adhesion.
Great nations do not fall because of external aggression; they first erode and decay inwardly, so that, like rotten fruit, they fall of themselves. The strength of a country is the sum total of the moral strength of the individuals in that country.

Bummer! I use their thinner, or a generic version therof. Hopefully that'll work OK.
