I have both of Academy's recent M1A2 kits (this one and this one) and have been wondering about the different TUSK II armor on the turret. In the earlier kit, the TUSK tiles are placed differently, there are fewer tiles, and the brackets protrude above the tiles by quite a bit. The newer kit's TUSK II turret tiles and brackets are different--the brackets do not protrude at all and there are more tiles in a different configuration. I've looked for pictures and the only ones I can find show only the configuration that comes with the earlier kit (tall brackets, fewer tiles). Does anyone know if the newer kit's configuration is in use, and, if so, where and when it has been used?
