I'm thinking of building the 1/35 CB-90 with a remote weapons station in place of the manned M-2.Seems like all the RWSs have smoke grenade launchers. Question, would smoke grenades work in a naval environment? Or would they just sink or extinguish? Do they make floating versions? The photos I've seen of the CB 90 (with the SAAB RWS) do not seem to have the launchers. Others with a CROWS variant , I can't tell.

The simple smoke grenades will sink. However, there are a wide range of concealment munitions available today that are not simple smoke grenades and these include things like munitions that burst before landing to provide the concealment plus things like chaff or munitions that dazzle/interfere with laser rangefinders and thermal imaging.
Keeping the launching tubes makes sense.
Plus, of course, if you are landing troops for an assault, you still might want simple smoke grenades to obscure the beach head. It might be worthwhile to double up the number of launch tubes.
