Hi guys

I was over on the Fine Scale site this evening and saw an ad for Alanger model company. I checked out the site. The are having a half off sale until March 20th. So I was wondering if anyone around here knows anything about them. they have some great prices on WWII Soviet stuff.

I think they have been on sale for quite a while, the only reason I don't buy there is because they don't sale some of the most popular models and brands(like Tamiya, Dragon, Italery) that I'm looking for, but they shure sell some nice soviet kits that I had never heard of.

I posted a thread about them: PST 1/72 scale Soviet tank kits. I had good experience buying from them via eBay. I think they make some nice kits. When ICM went out-of-business, they started marketing the kits under the name Alanger. So if you see a 1/35 scale kit, look for an ICM review to see how good it is.

I got great service from them, but since I am stationed in Massachusetts and they are based out of the Greater Boston area, it could be the locale.

Howdy wolfsix,

I have unfortunately not purchased any of their kits, but I have seen them on the shelves and had the same questions as yourself.
But, if Rob (Sabot) says they're nice kits, his word is gold as far as I'm concerned!
So if you're considering buying one of their kits......do it.

I have never bought from Alanger, but everything I have heard about them is positive. I would not hesitate to try them out if I found something I wanted. Hope this helps

Alanger kits are the same as ICM. But the list price is much lower. Though they offer special discount, it is not much different from the retail price here in Hong Kong, but are definitely lower than other shops in US.

I have at least 4 ICM kits.

Haven't gotten to them yet. They have nice detail and crispness in their casting. Indy links for all the tanks.

There is an E-bay seller in Calif that shows up every now and then. I got the "Flamingo" for $ 4.99 and reasonable shipping.

Go for it. If worst comes to worst, it's another model that will sit in your collection undone. ( not talking about you specifically ) I think we all have a few - "never get to models"

Max is a good guy to do business with.
Prices are low, along with the shipping price.
Hell, 5 bucks to the US, plus a .25 per extra kit is dirt cheap
for shipping.
Just needs to improve his packing......
Never got any damaged goods from him, but the packaging
could really use a little more pellets or crumped newspapers,
and better quality shipping tape would be wonderful.
Usually I have received the package within a week of ordering,
using paypal to pay.

After you register, he will send you a standard discount,
the more often you buy this discount goes up,
and when he runs a sale, you get the 50% off for the sale, plus a little extra off.
He also throws in a freebie kit to regular customers, every once in while.

Guess you can see I enjoy doing business with him.

Alanger is much the same as Marco Polo. They distribute the ICM, Eastern Express and PST kits. Prices can't be beat. I've ordered about 20 + kits from him, most being figures. Some of the kits take a little more work that Tamiya, etc., but they are subjects you won't find anywhere else. Revell has actually reboxed some of the ICM kits under the Revell-Germany label.

Here is the URAL 4320 (almost done) that I got from him.

I have also purchased kits from Alanger, and am very pleased with the price and service. I'll probably get more as soon as I can free up some more storage space
