I am planning a diorama incorporating French troops as part of UNIFIL (UN Interim Force in Lebanon in 2006). Does anyone have any details on the uniform camouflage scheme at this point; particularly the specific colours? I notice that although French troops traditionally wear their beret with the badge on the right-hand side, they appear to wear the UN blue beret in the same way as do the British (and most other armies).

For information the only troops that wear the beret in british style are Commando marine (Navy commando=SEAL).

For the uniform , the last time i did it i used Khaki Drill Humbrol number 72, Humbrol 117 for the green and a mix of chocolate brown+ 20% of flesh. The black was not pure.

Now i uses Valejo/Prince August paints but the colours are the good way!

if you go the acrylic way, here are my recommendations in the Tamiya range:
base color Xf-49 Khaki
brown: XF-10 Flat brown or XF-64 Red brown (depending on the fading)
green: XF-5 Flat green
black: XF-1 Flat black or XF-69 NATO black (for a used battledress)

The UN beret is always worn with the badge on the left.

Yes, I thought that was the case with UN berets, but wasn't certain whether this was also the case with French troops.

Thanks for the information on the appropriate Humbrol colours. I tend to use their enamels (or Revell), which I find much easier to brush-apply than acrylics.
