Does anyone know what "truck" if any pulled the M59 in WWII? I've been looking through all my resorces and can't find any save for one shot that is too blury to discern. And if there is one, are there any kits of it?

Wasn't it usually pulled with a tracked vehicle? I'm not sure.

The M5 High Speed Trctor. I was just wondering if...sort of off color where by chance say a WC62 or similar pulled it.

After doing some extensive research, I answered my own question. The 71/2 Ton Mack 6X6 was used as a "prime mover" and was fully capable and employed to pull the 8" M1 and the M59 155mm Longtom. And if pulled by a truck, the limber was not used. Just a heads up.
Now does anyone know if anyone makes it in plastic?

I was just revisiting the M59 and found THIS :
and this:
They are kit #'s
AFVHF524 LONG TOM GUN CREW (1) & GUN HOIST
AFVHF525 LONG TOM GUN CREW (2) & PROPELLING CHARGE
Did anyone else know of their existance or was it just me?
Wow, I must say that I'm excited! I found a whole slew of other kits from them I did not know existed. Here's the list if anyone else is interested:

Ken - the Mack NO hasn't been done in plastic. A resin kit exists, either DES or ADV I believe - but I can't find listings to say it is still available, and from all accounts it calls for a dedicated effort to get together properly. Naturally, this beast is expensive too.

Well thanks Gunnie. The only close match I was able to find was from ADV, but they only make the Mack 4 1/2 ton truck. Unless of course they used to make the 7 1/2.
Just happy I found the crew for the M59. :-)

Wouldn't the M35 be used to pull the long tom? For those who don't know what that is,it's an M10A1 without the turret They used them in the NW European campaign AFV Club makes one,but it has the wrong engine deck-m10 engine deck The M35 is gas powered not diesel I'm not sure, but I believe someone makes a correction kit for the AFV Club M35

That is correct Zod.
But, being that I was looking to be a little off center, away from the norm, I found that the Mack 6x6 was also used...and so began my search...

Is AFV Club's Long Tom a good kit? I saw it under a pile of kits in my favorite hobby store. It sells for $13 dollars.

If you can buy the AFV M59 for 13 bucks do it. Kit sells for over twice that.
