You are welcome. My ever patient wife should be thanked, however...

Great photos Andras! Was it crowded? And were they 60% World of Tanks players?

Cheers,
Jim

I am WAY BEYOND envious! Wow, what a show! And the special Tiger display would feature front and center for me. Some day, I hope...

Thank you I tried to take detail photos of tanks that might help with weathering.

Jim,
The place was not crowded - they sold only 1000 tickets per day, and I was there on Friday, which was a kind of a "trial run" for the full weekend program. There must have been less than a 1000 people, as I could purchase a ticket at the entrance. I overheard an employee as he was talking to someone, and he said it was much better with fewer people.

On the other hand it was HOT. Very unlike the UK I've experienced so far.

About WoT players... I guess there were a few. In the Evening I saw a bunch of streamers being sheperded around with Quickybaby and the others present. Wanted to say hi to Chieftain, but a certain youtuber cut in front of me. Granted I was in a queue of one, but still. And he calls himself British... Shame on you, mate. Shame on you (It was not QB just to clarify.)

There was also a WG event, and you could try a press account -all the rare and unreleased tanks you only heard about. (Which I did not have time to try, because you got 30 minutes.)

To be honest it was a fortiutous turn of events I got there by Tankfest; we were planning to go five days before. Even my wife said it was better like this; a real festival feeling (with tanks instead of metal/rock of the usual festivals we frequent). I guess the metal angle stayed the same, though.

I also had the chance to find the recipient of the "world's worst dad" award... At the Centurion exhibit -the cutaway tank- we saw this poor little kid standing with this Shell-shocked face, tears silentry streaming down his chin. In no time aboout ten employees converged on his position to help him find his parents, because apparently they forgot about him as he was playing around the tracks...

Frank,

You have to hurry if you want to see the Tiger exhibit in its current form: it will be open only until September, Tiger day. I guess they'll put everything back to their place after.

Andras,

Absolutely one of the finest and exhaustive photo coverages of an event that its been my good fortune to view. If anything those of us on this side of "the pond" have good cause and an excuse to visit and experience such an event in the near future (fingers crossed, fate willing). Thank you for all the work you put into this endeavour and for sharing this with the community here on Armorama.

Cheers ,
Jan

Dear Jan,

Thank you for your kind words. I really was lucky to be able to go; I hoped it was something worth sharing with others, too.
