For some reason, I can't work out how to add images to my forum posts. No doubt this is a simple process ... any help please.

Where are your images hosted? Usually most image hosting sites have a pre-configured URL that you can insert into the body of the message your're composing.





So basically when copmposing your message, click on the IMG icon and insert the image URL between the bracketed IMG flags as in the image above.

The images I would be using would be my own jpeg photographs that are saved in my 'Documents'folders.

That's the problem Paul, you need to put them either in the 'limited' gallery on this site or use a photo hosting site. You can't link via your own pc as when it's turned off then the link no longer would function this is the same for all web forums.

At least that explains why I have been having this problem.
So if an image is placed in the 'limited gallery, does that mean I can then transfer it to my message?

I notice that directly below this reply box there is a tiny screen labelled 'img' ... any relevance? Also, at the very bottom there is 'upload photo(s)'.

Yes and yes, the little [img] button will bring up something like this.....

Where ever you have hosted your photos be it using the on site gallery or a off site photo hosting site there should be a button or a way to 'copy' the address of the photo, you then put that address between the [img] and [/img ].

Hope that makes sense, somewhere on the site there is a guide.
The photo hosting site Photobucket used to be great as it had a button the copied the photo's address including the [img] bit so you just copied and paste, however photobucket changed their policy and started charging. I use Imgur as it came with my phone, not as easy to use but it's free.

I suspect the aggravation/effort/bother of posting photos on forums such as this is one of the reasons for the popularity of "special interest" groups on FaceBook. It so much easier to post photos from one's own computer files directly and instantly to FB. No third party "hosting" site is required. I am completely ignorant of the complexities of hosting a site, but if Armorama, Missing-lynx, Hyperscale, etc. could emulate FB's simplicity I think they would see much more traffic . . . . IMHO.

Sorry but F***book will never get my custom, personal issue, so for me I'll stick to these forums and an easy way of posting photos once you know how.
