Hello, I’m an experienced modeler and interesting in IS-2 1/35 scale kit. Which of them is best? Thank you.
Trumpeter's kits use a postwar style wheel. If you are building the IS-2M, that's no problem. If you want a wartime vehicle, either IS-2 or IS-1, you'll need to buy a set of Tamiya wheels, or maybe scavange a set from the old Eastern Express/Ark kit (they'd need a lot of clean-up). Don't use Dragon wheels, as they are very undersize.
Tamiya's kit is very good. The steel photoetch screening is not as refined as the brass aftermarket versions, but it will work.

Way to welcome a new member. Maybe he wanted to hear what members feel is the best kit and not read a review by someone who may never build it. To be honest I would rather have the input from someone who has actually built one than someone who thinks the sores look great.....
I cannot comment on which is best although I have always enjoyed Tamiya.

Agreed! I have both, and the tamiya is IMHO much better, and there is the aforementioned wheel issue with Trumpy. My Tamiya JS-2 I am now building came with a very nice set of link-&-length tracks too!
