Buying the MR Model turret conversion for the M3A1 Satan used on Saipan and Tinian. Not finding much documentation but did come across a pictures of 'D33', D31 and D21. All the hull MG's were deleted and one .30 coax. I know they carried a 170gal tank internal but one pic shows one coming ashore with an external tank i.e the Academy kit. Can't tell if that's extra fuel for the tank or refill for the flame projector. Wanted to see if anyone has additional info on these tanks.

Given the plumbing and the need to mix the flamethrower fuel with a gelling agent, thus making it unusable as engine fuel, any external tank is most likely hooked up to the normal M3A1 fuel system and is not an additional flamethrower fuel tank.
