OK,here we go sports fans,
In this time of troubles I wanted to build a nice quite pastoral scene. We have a Moravian Missionary toiling in the communal fields in Bethlehem,Pennsylvania circa 1750. The Industrious folk of Czech and Saxon stock, have right away cleared land and built a self sufficient community on the banks of the Lehigh River. This served as a base of operations for the Missionaries to go out to bring the Word to the Native Americans in the surrounds. They were very successful and did not use coercion. Large groups of converted Lenni Lanape tribesfolk settled in villages nearby of their own volition.
A young Maedle from the young folks' group has brought water for a refreshing break that man and horse are gratefully enjoying. In Bethlehem the young ladies wore red ribbons. Upon reaching maturity they wore pink. When married blue and when widowed, they changed to white.
Any lady unfortunate to become widowed was given free room and board in the purpose built house in town.
All people in town were assigned a job and no one received wages in return for their work but were given lodging and clothing and food.
The town was begun in 1741 and soon boasted the first symphony orchestra in the colonies plus the first public water works dating from the 1760s.
Hope this small treatise didn't bore!

and the view of all from above.

Thanks for looking and on behalf of the band I hope we passed the audition.

Jerry,
Excellent work and a great backstory!! Your research and attention to detail is impeccable, just like your figure painting skills. I still can't believe you hide this stuff away in boxes when you get bored with them-- they belong in a museum.

Loving moment kept in miniature
You did it again
Beautiful
The only thing which wonders me: the horse tack.....
How did they avoid shifting since there is no belly belt.
Pls., allow me to ask. Try to learn.

Dear Mr. Rutman,
Even a genius seems to have his week moments every now and than.
Nevertheless, it is a beautiful build
And inspiring: you show that modeling doesn‘t need a war scene for a nice scene.
Thanks

I did go back and check my refs for the harness. Quite a few pics did not show a belly band! So I suppose I am not so wrong after all.
But thanks for your kind remarks,

Beautiful job Jerry & let’s hear it for the backdrop too – it almost looks like frosted glass in front of that painted landscape – you’ve given me an idea, intentional or not! Either way that’s some very fine scumbling right there, bravo

Thanks for the kudos bruh. What effect you see though, was purely accidental I assure you! LoL I should have paid more attention in art class.

Hey accidental works too!
I didn't catch the cleared hillside in the distance first time around, but the spread of tree stumps helps to add to the story

Great work all round Jerry and I think the pulling motion whilst plowing would somewhat negate the belly band |

Thanks! I agree. The main force would be with the neck band and the horses' shoulders. There is not much side to side movement at all, like with a rider, etc. The physics don't add up for the bellyband being so important here.
