Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has tried modifying the Miniart buildings that come with their groovy dioramas so they're not so tall. I love them but they have two problems; one the base is never big enough for a tank, and two the building is usually very tall. I put all my dios in custome glass cases, and the more glass the more expensive it is so I don't want it to be so tall.

So I had the idea of cutting say the top third off a building (the church ruin), and then maybe filling the interior of the walls with plaster and then covering the top with rubble and whatnot to conceal any flaws.

Has anyone done this sort of thing and do you have a better technique?

Thanks guys.

All the modifications are made from plastic card.

Maarten, very nice work indeed.

Phil, I am the same and find similar problems....more so why are the majority of the kits in 1/35 battle damaged? It would be great to see some more “whole” buildings as per their 1/72 scale buildings.

Nice work!
Phil -you could also coat the joined edges/seam of the brickwork with texture paint e.g. Tamiya, Vallejo etc, - provides a nice gritty look to the damaged edges.
