Does the Merkava 2B require anti skid on the upper surfaces?

Thanks. The photo is particularly helpful. Just a clarification if you might. It looks to me that the anti skid is rather "roughly" applied, that is it is not neatly and evenly applied like say on an Abrams.

Merkavas anti slip is rougher and not as precisely applied as most mondern tanks. The grit is made from ground basalt rock applied over a heavy coat of paint. It appears to me that the size of the granules can vary from tank to tank. It is generally not applied under handles where soldiers could scrape their knuckles. It does wear off in high traffic areas.

That's correct. Besides, even the 'youngest' Mk.II is over 30 years old by now. BTW, they were withdrawn from regular units a few years ago, only some reserve units still operate them.
