eeewww look at the casting scars on that!!
Sorry, got side tracked. The container is standard ISO sized to conform internationally, but wouldn't 10 ft containers be underkill? If I recall correctly the standard size would be from 20 ft for the LHS system?
I'm no expert here, just making an observation

Hans-Hermann,
What are you trying to achieve?
I presume that you know that Trumpeter makes a 20 ft container.

Hi Robin,
saw during an exercise three 10 feet container fixed on a M1077 flatrack, might be some good addition to the Trumpeter LHS kit. but I guess it will be cheaper to buy two more 20 feet containers adding to the kit provided one.

Cutting out the unnecessary 10 feet from each 20 footer to make 10 footers of the rest?

Hans-Hermanns images:
Trumpeter 20-foot box
Italeris box
Maybe with some careful cutting and re-assembly ....
Or just use the fittings ...

Black dogs box is not a candidate:

Maybe it's just me but it seems that the shapes are different.
The US one looks to be taller and narrower...The Australian one is almost cubical.

The US ones above are called Tricons (tri, 3 part, container) and are 6' 6" wide each. Three linked together (plus fittings) equals 20', ISO standard size for a container and a flatrack.
There are also 10' Bicons.
Both are a standard 8' tall.

Just posted the following on Mike Goldberg's "3D printing" thread:
___________________________________________________________
How about the door and back panels** for a standard ISO 6' - 6" TRICON shipping container?
We could get all other needed wall panels by cutting up a standard 20' container kit and with any luck one 20' container would give us enough stock to build 3 TRICONs.
F.Y.I. - You already have the container connector blocks created and in your Shapeways catalog.

** Since fork lift access on these smaller containers is front to back rather than cross-ways you might have to do a floor panel as well.

According to this chart, UASU is a prefix used on the (German) Hapag Lloyd Container Line containers...
USAU (along with USAX) is the prefix used on US Army containers (https://www.bic-code.org/container-bic-code/usau/ )
